I really can’t understand the excitement about constantly increased resolution. It’s a good game (and great in certain areas) but the idea it’s a masterpiece and yet have a control system that poor seems nonsensical to me. ![]() Half of the reviews have the temerity to not even mention it, as if it’s barely an issue. Out in the vast wilderness it’s annoying but there’s space to compensate for certain problems, but in close quarters it’s a nightmarish beast of a bygone era that their trillions of dollars should eradicate.Īll these 10 scores make me wonder if people actually play the game wearing the hat of a critic or the hat of subservient slave to the gods of Rockstar. Still using ‘X’ to run instead of simply pressing 元 is especially infuriating when in a gun fight that’s in a small area and especially when you then press R1 and he then refuses to stick himself to the cover point. ![]() The first shootout had me screaming at Arthur because the button layout is totally ridiculous and his endless delayed reactions and blue whale turning circle caused numerous deaths because he simply wouldn’t do what I assumed he is programmed to do when I press the infernal buttons. Why do they stubbornly refuse to acknowledge how consistently flawed the setups are in their high-profile titles?Īll this talk of forcing 100 hours a week on the staff, did they also bully the playtesters who dared mention that THE CONTROLS ARE THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THE GAME. Rockstar spent nine years building a fully functioning game world with an unparalleled level of detail, a graphics engine that borders on photorealistic at times, an interesting story, a likeable lead character and… a control system straight from the cellars of PlayStation 2 hell.
